In this connection the Commissioners suggest that such sleps be taken as may lie neceessary to do away w ith these small bridges and to coupel thp parties re- punsimu lor them, to u,e UlcH 111 their stead, laying them in their ditches the entire width of tlie road, and filling them in with dirt so as to make the roa d pre sent an unbroken surface. The tiles will cast hut little, if any more than the bridges, and are very much sa for. The poor house is under the lmmeadi- atc supervision ot Commissioner Small- wood. It is kept in good order land its sanitary condition ?s reported excelent. Its inmates are well boused well clothed, and well fed, and seem to be contented and happy as their condition in life will per mit lliem to be.
